Flottenheimer is a friendly typeface drawing inspiration from chunky sans-serifs used for packaging. The word flottenheimer is Danish and describes a person who is unafraid to flaunt their wealth and style. It can be used in a derogatory manner, to mean a show-off or braggard, but is often used as a term of endearment for someone with a great deal of confidence.
Flottenheimer features an expansive glyph set and is being actively developed to support as many languages as possible. It is well suited for headlines, shorter texts, information highlights, and web elements. Its large x-height makes it readable at smaller sizes.
Currently Flottenheimer has 3 different numeral styles: standard, old style, and x-height. With tabular versions of each being added next.
To ensure legibility, similar letterforms are differentiated to aid the reader.
